Shape crop is a batch image cropping mode that applies a geometric mask—circle, rounded rectangle, or rectangle—then keeps only the pixels inside that path. Circle crop is the most common variant: a 1:1 circular mask for profile photos, directory headshots, and round design elements.
Unlike a plain rectangular pixel crop, shape crop is about the silhouette of the result. Outside the mask becomes transparent when you export PNG, which is what makes circular avatars drop cleanly onto colored or photographic backgrounds.
Circle Crop is the default choice for profile pictures, avatars, and round UI elements. It uses a 1:1 frame so the mask stays a true circle, and batch export keeps every headshot on the same circular footprint with PNG transparency outside the rim.
